Psyllium husk is an excellent source of dietary fibre, and can be used as a binder for gluten free and vegan baking.
To use as a daily fibre drink, mix 1 to 2 teaspoons of pysllium in a large glass of water, and consume immediately after mixing. Drink another large glass of water afterwards; it is recommended to increase daily intake of fluids when taking psyllium husks.
For gluten-free baking, follow recipe instructions. It is popularly used as the main binder in ‘The Life Changing Loaf of Bread’ recipes, which contain no wheat flour, only seeds, nuts and whole grains.
Keep well sealed to protect from excess moisture and strong odours, as it absorbs these.
