Organic Chia Seeds are high in fibre, protein, omega-3 fatty acids and various vitamins.
They are great in smoothies, mixed into porridge, or used in overnight oats: combine oats, chia and other seeds like ground flax or hulled hemp seeds with plant-based milk and store overnight in a container in the fridge, then eat topped with a sweetener or fruit of choice.
Chia seed pudding is also popular. Use 1/4 cup of chia seeds mixed with 3/4 cup or more of plant-based milk and stir well to combine. Mix in a runny sweetener maple syrup, and add flavourings like cacao powder, vanilla essence, cinnamon or others. Let sit for several hours until the chia seeds have absorbed all the liquid and the mixture has thickened. You can then blend it to a smooth consistency if desired.
Store in a cool, dark place, ideally in a closed jar.
