Einkorn Flour Oak Forest Mills (100g)

This Einkorn flour is grown (on land in conversion to organic) and milled in Co Kilkenny by Oak Forest Mills. Their aim is to continue the Irish tradition of growing high quality milling grains and producing flour that matches and exceeds the quality of any comparable imported flour.

Einkorn is higher in protein, phosphorous, vitamin B6 and potassium than modern forms of wheat. It also is higher in carotenoids, the natural red, yellow or orange pigments that are found in many vegetables and fruits, and in a few grains. Although einkorn contains gluten, it’s a different more fragile and lower volume gluten that is easier to digest than modern wheat gluten.

Please note that because the flour is freshly ground in a traditional manner rather than ground, stabilised and preserved as in commerical milling, it has a shorter best before date than most imported and branded organic flours. This flour is unbleached, unblended and without any additives whatsoever.

The flour is produced solely from einkorn grain grown and milled in Ireland. The flour is stoneground in a cold milling process and supplied unbleached, unblended and without additives.
